STUDENT JOURNEY

Student Journey

From first steps through to completion Busec’s team of specialist Advisers always ensure that each student is given the support, guidance and resources they need to successfully complete their qualification.

That’s why we’ve detailed the entire process of our student journey below, so you can see exactly how we take you from training to CIPD qualification graduate.

Advice

Once you have made an enquiry you will have a further conversation with an experienced staff member to make sure that you are studying at the correct level.

Apply

After you’ve decided which is the right qualification and delivery for you, you will submit your application form. Once we receive this, we’ll issue an email invoice for your payment.

Pay

Payment for your qualification can be made by cheque, BAC transfer or Credit/Debit card (via Paypal). You are able to either pay in full (with a 10% discount) or make interest free, staged payments across the length of your programme. For more information on pricing, please see our PDF guide.

Your learning agreement and CIPD registration

Next, you’ll receive your learning agreement from us, this details your length of study and what you can expect from Busec and what is expected of you as a student, You will also receive a notification from the CIPD regarding your student membership. Payment for this is made directly to the CIPD.

Access to PebblePad, our digital learning platform

Next you will receive your username and password for access to our digital portfolio. You will receive details of the Introductory Workshop/Webinar you will attend if you are completing the qualification on the Distance Learning Programme or your first Workshop if you are completing the qualification on one of the Workshop Programme.

Your first workshop or webinar

If you are on the Distance Learning programme you will receive contact from your adviser to organise your first meeting and you will attend an introductory workshop or webinar. Your meeting with your adviser will be after this workshop/webinar. At your first meeting with your adviser you will discuss the structure and optional unit/module content of your qualification.

If you on the Workshop programme you will be invited to attend your first workshop in the series, which will support your chosen qualification. Details and dates of our workshops can be found here.

Coursework

Once you’ve finished each module or unit, your work will be assessed through PebblePad the digital learning platform. Your dedicated adviser will give feedback on draft and completed coursework.

Verification process

As part of the CIPD quality assurance procedures, both ourselves (Busec) and the CIPD will verify your work. This is standard procedure for all CIPD qualifications.

Qualification claim

Once you’ve completed your studies, we will start the process of claiming your qualification from the CIPD. This can take up to 8-12 weeks (dependent on the CIPD) after the verification process has finished.

Receive your certificate

Congratulations! You’re now fully CIPD qualified. However, it doesn’t stop there. There are plenty more HR and L&D courses available; each designed to enhance your skills even further. Take a look here.
