Steve Samuels – Associate

Steve first trained as a schoolteacher before joining the Ministry of Defence (MOD) as a Civil Servant.  During the 33 years that he spent with the MOD he worked in a variety of HR and Logistic Support roles at a number of different locations.  Steve has had extensive experience of managing complex change management initiatives bringing together separate organisations with their own unique cultures into a new entity and handling the people related issues and consultation with the Trade Unions.  He has also dealt with TUPE transfers.

Steve was able to utilise his HR and operational line management experience during his last appointment with the MOD when he moved into a more strategic HR Business Partner role reporting at Board level.

In 1998, he gained his MBA and in 2008 his MSc (with Distinction) in HRM, having already completed his Chartered MCIPD through Busec.  Steve has experience of teaching at post-graduate level on management courses.  He has continued to maintain his personal development and recently completed training to enable him to investigate cases of workplace harassment or bullying.

Steve is married and lives near Bristol.  He enjoys gardening and researching his family history.
