Since retiring from the Army in 2010 I have undertaken various roles within the Care Sector, operating as a Strategic Operations Manager with responsibility for various HR and L&D responsibilities. In 2016 I decided that I wanted to fulfil an ambition of mine which was to make better-use of my MSc and to fully immerse myself within a HR/L&D environment, it was at that point that I decided to become a Freelance HR Consultant. I have recently attained two qualifications linked to my role – Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement and a Level 4 Award in The Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Weather permitting, I like to ride-out on my motorbike, it gives a sense of freedom and is a great way of enjoying the wonderful Wiltshire countryside where I live. We have 2 horses which keep me busy, early mornings mucking-out and some weekends at shows with my two girls. We have a Jack-Russell who enjoys his two-walks everyday which also gets me out of my conservatory (my office), so I am grateful for that. My wife and I like to make regular trips-out to the theatre, to watch a concert or even go to the pictures now and then, oh and of course the annual family trip to the Olympia London International Horse Show and the Xmas pantomime at the Salisbury Playhouse – oh no you don’t I hear you say!!
