Many CIPD students successfully gain Graduate membership but do not apply for upgrading to Chartered Member.  There are also a number of Chartered Members who are eligible for upgrading to Chartered Fellow.

Upgrading is not a difficult process.  All our Associates understand the CIPD's requirements for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and upgrading.  We also have members of the CIPD national upgrading panel on our team.

How will it work?

A Busec adviser will meet with you and either look at your CPD, or if you have not started one we will help you to decide on suitable material.  The important element is to but demonstrate the reflection and learning that has been gained from events or activities.  It is necessary to have a good range of entries - not just work related training.  We will advise on how to build your CPD and complete the upgrade application, ensuring that the supporting documentation provides the CIPD panel with all the information they will need to make a decision.

All applicants need to be sponsored.  Although the sponsor does not have to be a CIPD member it is beneficial if they are as they will understand the CIPD's requirements.  Following their work with you on compiling your CPD and application documentation the Busec adviser will be in a position to act as sponsor, if you wish.
