What is Professional Assessment?Professional Assessment is a direct route to Chartered Membership of CIPD for people who registered on the programme prior to January 2011. It was pecifically designed for HR and Learning and Development practitioners who have 5 years or more management experience. Candidates meet the CIPD Professional Standards by building a portfolio that demonstrates their competence and knowledge. We use a range of assessment methods; for example: discussion, questioning, work-based evidence and written narratives, e-portfolio is an invaluable on-line assessment tool available for all our candidates. "I received positive and encouraging support from my Advisor, I always left the meetings eager to start the next stage" Chartered Membership is gained by successful completion of four fields :
Different Approaches We offer two approaches to professional assessment Standard and Fast-track Executive. With the Standard Programme you will upload evidence that demonstrates your operational effectiveness in a specific area of HR. E-portfolio facilitates the assessment process: rather than writing a lengthy narrative you can annotate your evidence to show how you contributed to a particular piece of work. This also enables you to cover a significant amount of the knowledge element of the programme. This approach is most suitable for people who are able to complete the programme over an eighteen month time-scale. It also lends itself to practitioners who have a reflective approach and would enjoy writing about their work. With Executive Assessment there is greater use of professional discussion with your adviser or assessor who will also map your evidence for the People Management and Development and Leadership and Management fields. This reduces the amount of work you need to do as a candidate. This route enables practitioners to 'fast-track' their professional assessment and candidates can complete the programme in as little as 3-4 months.
