Achieving a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) with BusecWhat is an NVQ?NVQs are qualifications based on standards of good practice that have been devised by people from a wide variety of occupations. The qualifications are competence based. This means that NVQs are suitable for anyone who has relevant practical experience and knowledge of a subject and who can provide evidence that they can perform a range of appropriate activities in the workplace. There are various levels of NVQ to suit all types of jobs. The levels range from level 2 e.g. Team Leader to level 5 Strategic Manager. For example an NVQ level 3 in Learning & Development. Successful businesses increasingly require flexibility from their employees; they are expected to participate in new initiatives, learn new skills and utilise these in parallel with their core responsibilities. Examples include designing and delivering presentations, facilitating at internal training courses or being a coach or mentor to junior staff. First line managers are often promoted into the role based on their functional expertise and may need to develop their competence to successfully lead their team. In all the above examples NVQs can be used to:
“I think the organisation is very professional and I'm glad I put my learning through Busec as they genuinely care” What is available?Busec Ltd can offer CIPD NVQ Levels 3, 4 and 5 in: Management & Leadership
Learning and Development
It is appreciated that not all candidates wish to undertake a full NVQ, or one of the set Certificate programmes designed by CIPD. In these circumstances they can choose a "cluster" of units and achieve a certificate to show competence in these areas. These units can be "banked" and added to at a later date enabling the person to achieve the full NVQ, if they so wish. This approach enables the employee to develop their competence, appropriate to their work experience and reduces costs for the employer. How will it work?A member of the Busec team will respond to your initial enquiry and will outline the qualification for you, explain the process and answer any questions. The next stage will be to meet for a diagnostic interview; this does not incur any cost or commitment but is part of the fact finding process and will enable an adviser to map your experience to the NVQ standards and give you personal advice about your best options. When you are ready to go ahead you will meet with your Lead Assessor for a start up meeting when you will complete the NVQ registration form so that Busec can arrange for the CIPD to register you on the programme. Your Lead Assessor will help you to prepare and present your evidence to support your claim to competence. You would probably meet about once a month and in between meetings they would give you feedback to your work by email or telephone. For an inclusive price Busec offers:
"If they coud all be like Jane Church then everyone would acheive an NVQ!" Anna O'Callaghan, Regional Training Manager (West & Wales Region), Northcliffe Media on completion of Learning & Development NVQ Level 5
