Do I need to be a member of the CIPD?

Yes, you do need to be a member to undertake a CIPD programme and you can join at the same time as you register on the programme, this is a separate subscription cost to Busec fees. If, however, you are completing an Award on the Foundation programme it is not necessary to become a member.

What work-based evidence can I use for my portfolio?

Evidence can be any documentation that you have produced or contributed to. For example policies, strategies, presentations, letters, emails, drafts, rough notes or minutes of meetings. Ideally evidence should be no more than 2 years old.

How long does it take to complete a CIPD qualification?

A guideline for completion of the Foundation programme is 6 months (Certificate), Intermediate (Certificate) is 12 months and Advanced (Diploma) is 2 years. These are only guidelines and qualification can be completed in less, or more time as your personal circumstances dictate.

I have previous CIPD qualifications do I get exemption for these?

It is dependent on what you have and the level you are studying at, but the programmes do have exemptions for some elements of previous study. If you would like to know more please contact us and we can arrange a call with an adviser.

What do my fees cover?

Your fees cover full programme delivery access to our online learning centre, meetings,telephone and email support from your assessor coach, assessment and feedback and accompanying programme workshops. Additional costs are the CIPD membership, CIPD exam fees and programme core text books.

What are my payment options?

You can make a payment to Busec using BACS transfer or a cheque, we do not have the facility for credit card payments. The programme will not start until payment is received.

Staged payments are available and can be discussed with an adviser and once agreed the programme will not commence until a Direct Debit/Standing Order payment has been set up and the first payment received.

How quickly can I start?

As we offer a competency based route of study we are not tied to an academic year and can offer a rolling start date that suits you.
